JRiver (or jremote) unmuting PC

Folks - since adding JRiver MC 21 and jremote a week ago, my PC (Windows 10) which I leave the sound muted, trips to unmute now repeatedly. Can't determine the action I am taking that might be making this happen. I do not use MC to play music on the computer but do use the remote for various speakers connected through the DLNA. Is there a setting I am missing? Thanks!
