Can't play 24/192 music with my 24/192 DAC
« on: February 26, 2016, 04:38:52 pm »

Using ASIO to the DAC via USB cable, maximum buffer (2048 samples) and music is very slow and jittery, like someone slowed it down on a turntable.  I tried almost every buffer size that I could.  I just bought this DAC (Schiit Modi 2) to play 24/192 music, so this sucks.  24/96 plays fine.

Check the ASIO buffer settings in JRiver's device settings.
I have a different DAC but what works best for me is to use "minimum hardware size" with the "use large hardware buffers" option disabled.
Different devices like different settings though.

I get that "slowed down" sound with my DAC when the buffer size is too small, but if 2048 is the maximum, that's surely not the issue.

24/192 works fine with my Schiit Modi 2. Try checking the USB cable.
