Cannot play Comcast Music Channels on Clients
« on: March 01, 2016, 02:15:23 pm »

When I try to play any Comcast Music Channel on any of my 3 clients, all that happens is the channel logo is shown full screen and the word "Loading" is at the bottom. I can see that the tuner is being opened/activated to that channel but MC never shows any video or audio. If I get lucky it will pop up and play for a few seconds, then goes silent and says "Buffering..." at the bottom but never recovers.

Other channels are NOT affected on the Clients.

Music channels work perfectly fine on the Server machine.

I hope this gets fixed soon because I am planning to go headless on my Server and using a Client for main Tv viewing room (due to frequent MC Server gui crashes ruining recordings).

These are the same channels that had the audio cutting out on my AVR and there was some kind of "fix". Here is the thread with sample file: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=102559.msg711736#msg711736

It is due to long buffering because video frames come sparsely. I will look into it as soon as I get some time.

In the mean time you just need to pause it for a minute before resuming.  (I know, this is not a true solution.)

Ya, pausing for a minutes does seem to work. Thank you very much  :)

Updated to v58, some improvement but still have to press Pause....

On Clients:
- select music channel.
- channel logo comes on full screen and says "Opening..." for 15 seconds.
- picture and music plays for about 6 seconds then music stops, picture stays on screen and it says "Buffering..." at the bottom.
- stays like that unless I press Pause for about 10 seconds, then resume.
- after that it seems to play fine.

Things seem to have gotten worse since v58... Now running v85 and client playback of these channels is pretty much impossible.

Intel HD 4400 GPU (laptop)- select channel for playback and in only a few seconds get error message on the screen saying "Something went wrong with playback. Details: Failed to open or parse file (hr=0x80004005)". Never actually grabs tuner. Log file:

AMD 5450 GPU (Desktop)- select channel, screen says "waiting" for 30 seconds, then channel starts playing, within 10 seconds the audio cuts out then a few seconds later MC crashes. Log file:
