Hi I use Theater View on my HTPC to play music.
If I use my remote to pause the audio for a short while then press play to resume playback it does not continue playback from where I paused but instead starts playback of whatever list happens to be on the screen at that moment.
How can I change this behaviour so that when pressing play while paused it resumes my paused audio.

Thanks

What happens if you press the "Pause" button on a remote again to resume playback?

Pressing the pause button a second time while paused does what I would expect in that it resumes the paused audio regardless of what screen I have on the display.
My problem is after many years of using systems where play also resumes the audio it is hard wired into me to press play to resume, but MC appears to start playing whatever is highlighted on the screen at the point I press play and not to resume what I have paused.

I would really not like such a change, since when I navigate around the views, and press play on an item, I would expect that item to play, and not behave differently depending if i'm in pause or stop mode.

To be clear I am not asking for the way MC works to be changed as such.
I am asking if in the many options there is one that changes the behaviour on my system to the way I expect it to work.
I use the Select/OK button to initiate playback so I am also not asking for the behaviour to be different depending whether I am in pause or not, I would be happy if play only started/resumed playback of whatever was currently in the playlist if anything.
I found an option in Tools>General>Behavior>Play button: "Play visible file" or "Play Playing Now" but this appears to have no effect on my system in Theatre view.

+1

I hate contextual behavior like this.

You could change the command sent to MC by your remote button to MCC_PLAY_PAUSE instead:
Code: [Select]
mc21.exe /mcc 10000,0

That sounds interesting.
How would I do that?
I've looked in the wiki and searched through the options menu but it is not obvious to me.
