Is there a import or sync files issue with Win 10?
« on: March 06, 2016, 08:48:15 am »

I run tools>Import>and then any of the three options etc to load in a new folder with 8 songs.  MC21 goes through its paces and reports back finished but it says zero files imported.  If I set up the Auto Sync feature to look at a certain disk or folder to update when new music is brought in, also fails to acknowledge or import this music.

I see the files clearly on the disk and its in the same area as all my other music.

I am not an expert to MC 21 so maybe its something I am doing or not doing but I am stumped.  Could it be something with Win 10 or another set up feature? Thx

You probably have Ignore files previously removed enabled, and once had those files in the Library and removed them. Then MC won't re-import them and will skip over them.

Or, they're already imported, and have some wacky tags applied, so they're not showing up where you think they'll show. Like maybe they got mis-classified as Images or Videos, or filed as a Podcast or Audiobook, or something?

I checked off the box to ignore if deleted before with no success.  This folder I am bringing in is new, actually the whole install is new so no tags were ever added.  Since its new and MC 21 doesn't see it and I can't import it in, I wouldn't know how to tag or check for tags. Thx

What kind of files are these?  Do they play in other programs?

These are simple mp3 files that I can get media player and even MC 21 to play.  Just can't them to be inexed or added to the library.  I am not a power user so it could be something really dumb.  Or its gonna be a Win 10 thing.

Like Glynor said, look through the other areas on the left to see if they were imported into the wrong place.

When you do your import on that directory, what file types are checked?  You should have all of Audio checked, but have Images and Video Unchecked.

OK changed name of folder and re-imported and it came in but it lost somewhere.  Looks like I need to teach the import process how to recognize the Artist and Release Title. Onto the next hurdle
