Auto tagging
« on: August 18, 2003, 09:28:33 pm »

I would love to be able to make it so that every audio file I import would automatically be tagged with some fields. For example I use a custom tag to set files to "Whole album" or "loose song" and another tag to set "go to ipod" and "Dont go to ipod" It would be great when ripping lots to have some of the tags already filled in if I know that they are going to be the same.

How do you get around this? Is it important for you?

Only thing I can think of is using the Recently Ripped playlist after u've ripped - selecting all files and setting the fields in one big go.

What would be great would be if we could set default values for fields in general based on smartlist rules but I think's a MCv15 feature :)

I've wished for default values for tagging fields too.  For example, I always have to set all Rating values to 3 whenever I import something,  I'd like to be able to set a default value.

And if we could set default values, I could default mine to three and you could leave it unrated.  Ain't America great?

As a 'King' would you not be a monarch rather than a dictator?
