Converting WAV to MP3 for Burning
« on: August 13, 2003, 05:20:05 pm »

MC 9 - holds all my music in WAV format (wanted it that way) - however I would like to select a number of songs (say 100) and burn them as MP3's to CD. I was able to do this with Real Jukebox and MusicMatch, but so far unable to in MC 9. Can it be done? If so what are the steps? Thanks

Convert format to mp3. (Tools)

Burn > Data disk. Load no more then the max your cd will allow. You're set.

AFAIK MC doesn't do wav to mp3 on the fly conversions to cd. I may be wrong.

Tried it as data file, but MC treated the files as regular wav and (10 songs 74 minutes) - Looks like I'll be SOL on this aspect. Too, bad MusicMatch can't recognize MC9 files that would make it easy

You have to convert your .wav files to mp3 first. If you use MC for this and want to keep the original files make sure you check the appropriate boxes in the conversion options. Otherwise originals will be deleted.

Then take converted files and burn them as a data disc.

select file(s) to convert
right-click (or click on TOOLS menu at top)
select 'Library Tools'
select 'Convert Format'
click on 'Options'
select format
UnClick 'send original fle to recycle bin'
GO!

Yes, MC can do WMA files . . .
