Any advantage in using a quad core I5 processor for an Id?

As the subject says, is there an advantage?   Is it easier to run multiple ids?

The Id on the current hardware has plenty of power for audio and enough for basic video.

Not really.  It cannot do multi-channel DSD/DSF.  It doesn't have enough power to decode and decompress without running into buffering problems.
