Help with tag changes
« on: May 05, 2016, 07:40:21 am »

Anyone have a solution to tag changes not showing in the Artists view?

For example. I have 3 albums from The Dead Weather. Two of the albums show up in the Artist view (and have the artist tag of "The Dead Weather"), and they show up under this title. But a third had the artist tag of "Dead Weather, The".

I changed the artist name to the "The Dead Weather", and refreshed the view. but the album is still showing up in the Artist view under the former tag ("Dead Weather, The").

Any easy solution to this? This behaviour is repeatable with several other artists as well.

Thanks.

MC has a very flexible way of working with Artists and Albums.  Because some albums can have songs by many artists (not just one artist) MC uses a tag called [Album Artist] also.  The way it works is explained here:

In your particular case, I would bet that [Album Artist] is still set to "Dead Weather, The".  Simply erasing this tag should make it sort as you are expecting it to.

Brilliant. That did the trick.

Thank you!
