Have you installed the GoPro codec?

That codec was selected as a SMPTE standard for acquisition and post production, but those standards are often widely ignored (the NLE vendors tend to prefer their own proprietary codecs, and the camera vendors like their own). Not bad news for GoPro, in any way, but also not a massive deal for an end-user product like MC. It is a very nice mastering codec, though.

In any case, to use it, until/unless it is implemented in ffmpeg, it probably won't be supported natively by LAV. Hendrik would need to comment to be sure, on that. But it doesn't matter much... If you install the GoPro decoders, you should be able to have the videos work in MC:

If I install the codec it works with mp-classic but not in JRiver.
In JRiver I only ear the audio of the avi file. The video screen is empty.
With media player classic works fine.

any solution?
thank you master!!!

Can you post a sample file? You should be able to host it on something like Dropbox or WikiSend. If you don't want to post one publicly, you'll need Hendrik to respond and tell you where to send the download link via email.

If it works in MPC, then they can make it work in MC. My strong guess is that they just need to whitelist the filter in Red October. For now, you could probably get them going by manually configuring a custom Playback mode under Options > Video. But it would be easiest if you could just post a sample file and have Hendrik (or Matt or one of them) fix it for you.

To use external codecs you need to set up advanced rules in the video settings to make use of them, MC won't automatically use them.
