As I have trouble importing some custom tags, and seeing plans for "Improved access to metadata" in MC22, I thought I'd place here some questions to the developers' team, if someone would care to elaborate.
1. Do you mean metadata for audio or video as well?
2. What shape will this take? Access to paid services or some integration of free sources?
3. I've had very little luck with YADB over time, and in the few cases it worked, I had no control over the fields it overwrites; are there plans to improve this part of MC?
4. I've also read that YADB also checks freedb, but it fails to recognize albums that are readily located in freedb via other taggers. Any thoughts on that?
5. Have you considered some form of cooperation with the MusicBrainz team? Despite their recent server problems, theirs is a passionate project and it has a lot of support in MC threads.
6. Would you find useful a separate thread that collects ideas and/or requests related to metadata scraping and handling?
