TV Guide/Live TV
« on: July 27, 2016, 12:58:14 pm »

I'm a new convert from Windows Media Centre and I'm really sold on JRiver.  However, in WMC it was possible when watching live TV to have the program guide overlay the current picture.  Is this/will this be possible in JRiver?

No.

But you found the way to have the channel continue showing in the corner of the Guide.

Your next question is going to be. "How do I get back to the live channel?"
If you are watching, then jump to the Guide using the Guide Button on your remote, then want to get back to the same live channel without changing channels, just press the Green Button on your MCE remote. It will toggle through up to three displays, the Guide, maybe a menu, and the live video. If you don't have a standard MCE remote with a Green Button, but perhaps use a Logitech or other programmable remote, the MCE function to call is "Media Center".

A search of the forum will find lots of this information, and for TV questions, the TV Forum is full of answers, or at least lots of discussion about questions! It is worth searching.

Oh, and Welcome to the Forum, and JRiver MC. You are going to like it. And be frustrated by some of the differences to WMC. And love it. (There are quite a few WMC converts here, and discussions about the differences.)
