Hello,
I discovered JRiver MC a few monthes ago and I think it is perfect from my need. I intend to use it from a QNAP NAS, but control it from various devices (Android) and computers (Linux).
I would now like to buy a license, but there is a serious problem preventing me from doing so. In my audio collection I have a lot of .ogg files, and although these files will play well in MC, the tags (artist, name, album, genre etc) are not imported at all when I make the initial import of the library.
I can reproduce this both on MC 21 for QNAP and on my Gentoo Linux computer.
Is it a known problem? How to fix it? If I buy the license, is there more chances that I can get official support to solve this bug?
I'm ready to help diagnose, I can post the .ogg files somewhere for someone to have a look or such.
Thanks in advance - if someone solves this problem, there will be one more official user of MC!

I'm not aware of any tagging differences in the linux version for OGG. Can you PM me with a link to one or email a small one to bob (at) jriver (dot) com ?
Thanks.
bob:
Your test works fine for me in MC 20, 21 and 22 on linux. Tags and cover art show up.
What is the filename field in MC for this track?
elvanor:
Not sure what you mean by filename field. The name is "Angel In Black"
Can the problem be due to the underlying FS? I doubt so, as it would be ext in QNAP and NFS in Gentoo, but they both fail...

I think bob is suggesting that the filename on disk might be too long or otherwise "strange" which is confusing MC and making it unable to read the metadata from the file. But I'm just guessing.
I also think he wants you to go into MC's view for these files and find the column labeled "filename". If it's not there, right click on the column headers and select it. Then tell bob what you see there.
Brian.
