22 Stopped Launching After Lastest Leap 42.1 Update

(1/2) > >>

DaveInVA:
Finally got it working with the NAS and everything was going smooth until tonights LEAP 42.1 software update. 19 things updated, mostly Lib stuff. Now MC 22 no longer launches. I haven't tried launching it in Terminal yet to see what errors it gets.  Obviously is something in the update that broke it as it was working minutes before the update and right after the update it will no longer launch. I try running it from Terminal tomorrow and see what errors it gives. If anyone has any other ideas let me know,

Thanks,
Dave

DaveInVA:
Just launched it in Terminal and all I got was this error:

"Warning: Program '/usr/bin/mediacenter22' crashed."

So that was really useful. NOT.

Are there any logs I should be looking at? Or maybe just give up.

Dave

DaveInVA:
Ok, found the log and why its crashing:
One of the things that were just updated were the themes.
There is an error entry like this for each of the LEAP 42.1 themes -

"(mediacenter22:3040): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme directory devices/48 of theme breeze has no size field"

So the updates broke it.

That's just a warning and gtk isn't used much in MC.
You could try a ldd -d /usr/lib/jriver/Media\ Center\ 22/*.so* | less
and see if anything is missing...

DaveInVA:
I was using it and then closed it out to reboot into MacOS and noticed there were some LEAP 42.1 updates pending so I did the "zypper up" and then decided to use MC again and found it would no longer launch. In addition to the themes being updated about 19 Lib's got updated.
I'll run that check on it when I get back into Linux later and see what happens.

Thanks,

Dave
