Add items to video list
« on: August 17, 2016, 03:04:01 pm »

The video list has as a default: Files, Home Videos, Movies and Shows.

Is there a way to add in two more items to the list: Kids Movies and Sports Events?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and take care,

Rob

I figured out how to add items to video list via:

Video-->Add Library View

All the library views are duplicates of the "Movies" list.

Is this normal???

Thank you and take care,

You can customize those views to show what you want.  They are very, very configurable.

To show your "kids movies" and sports events, you'll need to tag your media with something that identifies them:  Genre, Keywords, Media Sub Type, etc.  Then you can change your views to filter on those properties and only show what you want.

Here's a pretty extensive article about it with a lot of information:

Thank you, that worked. I was hoping I could associate a library view with a directory path name. You can do this with the "tags" since one of the tags is "Filename (path)". I configured "set rules for file display" to look for the:

 Filename (path) "contains" "\\Mediaserver-pc\media-filez 2\DVDz - KIDz FLIx\"

Worked like a champ and I can do the same for the all displays I add (as long as they have a one to one relationship with the network store).

Thanx, that's exactly what I was looking for.

Take care,

Good job finding the configuration options.

You'll have killer customized Views in no time.  :)
