Windows only supports paths that are 260 characters long or shorter. (as a general rule). I hope the MC-code will be updated (if necessary) to support these longer file paths.

Huh, didn't know this was included with Redstone 1 (aka Anniversary Update)!

Isn't there an experimental feature in MC to support extra long filenames? Does this help any, if at all?

By default we won't import files over 260 characters.

But if you enable:
Options > General > Advanced > Support extra long filenames

That limit will be removed.  The option is marked as experimental because it's possible you'll trip over someplace that's using a fixed size buffer for the filename, but you might not either.  We just haven't tested it that well yet.

I just checked that option, no luck importing

some of the files have more chrs like this file
