HELP US JUDGE THE LATEST MJ SKINNING COMPETITION
« on: February 03, 2003, 09:59:59 am »

Recently, we organized a skinning competition for MJ thru Skinbase.org. The idea was to get the skinning community (experienced and new) to take a look at our app and create more interesting skins for you.

Below are links to the final four. Please give us your feedback.

Watercolor (Mega-Me)
javascript:displayWindow('http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/view.pl?enlarge=673&version=mega',1008,709)

Syncretism (mini-me)
javascript:displayWindow('http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/view.pl?enlarge=671&version=8',588,381)

Amped (Mega-Me and mini-me)
javascript:displayWindow('http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/view.pl?enlarge=680&version=mega',807,638)

javascript:displayWindow('http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/view.pl?enlarge=681&version=8',801,330)

Extrax (mini-me)
javascript:displayWindow('http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/downloads/view.pl?enlarge=666&version=8',388,260)

Thanks for your help.

Amped 2 for Mini Me

I haven't found a mega me yet that I like enough to replace the default Z theme

Zev,
We know that skins are not important to everyone, but some people REALLY love them, so it is nice to have the option for a variety of skins to suit tastes, including plain ones for those who prefer them. Also, the interface is always something that software reviewers consider. So, as well as having the best functioning jukebox, shouldn't we have the best looking jukebox too?   8)

Ok ,i start again.What i mean:

To many many here ,skins are REALLY  important ,but ,in another hand only four of us gave an answer concerning the contest.
This i find strange.
Concerning ANY program ,i download ALL the skins and try them.
I keep the few i like .
I found a program who put radoom my themes for Windows when the computer starts, and first having Windows 2000, allows me to use themes.

It is free but if not i would pay for it. And i would have hard time using a program with a look i dislike.

So you are 100% right.

Maybe if they were done on certain things in the Mega skins. And as an option only. Something that would be cool...instead of simple three or four image changes on buttons, have it display something like (customizable---->) viz on rollover. Scrollbars would be good for this as well. That would be a challenge though, I bet.

Agreed. My skin is too thin for skin. But Amped 2 looked great from the screen shots I saw (the photorealistic look is killer).

Amped & 681.

MJ is still my standby, day in day out, its very strong.

But I have to say an application this powerful without competitive looks is crazy. I get tired of looking at MJ.

It is the visual and aural style that (Everyone will use.) that will bring in the dollars; not deep functionality that very few want, will want let alone bother learning how to use use.

Listening to it is fine, library management is the best. That has been done to death. Just looking at it with the weakest mega state options of all the major jukeboxes that grinds a bit.

I still look to Virtuosa as having by far the most impresive looking interface although not as intuitive.
