Can someone help me on this one? If i want to prevent access to a folder and the files on that folder with a password how do i do it? Thanks in advance

What O/S are you using?
(I assume Windows, but 98/ME/2000/XP ?)

Do you use a password to log-onto Windows?

Are you concerned only about network access or also access from the PC where the folder is located?

Details help a bit

I'm now using Win2000,
i don't have a password to log-on,
Prevent access from a network and the PC where the folder is.

To my knowledge, there is no way to password-protect a specific folder without special software (I'm sure software exists to do this).

As for restricting access over a network - I think in 2000 you can simply turn off sharing on that folder (right click on it > properties > sharing or something similar).

For restricting access on the computer - the only way I can think of doing this is having 2 logins - an admin and a user. The admin login would be password protected. The user doesn't have access privilages to open the folder.
