MacOS Sierra - MediaCenter - crash
« on: October 17, 2016, 01:25:30 am »

I posted this already in some other threads but got no satisfactory answer:

Did anybody install MediaCenter on a Mac with MacOS Sierra?

MediaCenter (newest version) crashes regularly on my Mac (newest OS).
I tried 22.0.22, also but the result remained the same.

Try turning off auto-import and see if it stops crashing. If it does stop crashing, chances are it's a file that's attempting to be imported which is causing the crash here.

Otherwise MC works great on Sierra here.

We're not having a problem with Media Center on Sierra here. It probably is related to a file that is causing Media Center to crash. Can you enable logging in Media Center and after it crashes, post the Media Center log? You can e-mail the log to me: brad at jriver dot com.

Turning off auto-import seems to work.
MediaCenter 22.0.30 is running now for the longest time
I ever had the pleasure to enjoy.
My collection is a really big one (212000 objects).

Only to let members know what happened in the meantime:
Brad from the JRiver team found the problem:
an iTunes audio book file (m4b) downloaded from Audible (that played
without a problem on iTunes) caused the crash (perhaps due to copyright protection?).
