Media Center 22.0.30 - special characters and other things
« on: October 21, 2016, 06:15:06 am »

If I paste some text into a tagging field German “Umlaute”, French accents
are corrupted.
For instance: “église” becomes “e glise” or “über” “u ber”
with spaces instead of the correct letter.
And there is no chance to type French or Czech special characters.
They then appear as “eglise” instead of “église” or “Dvorak” instead of “Dvořák”.
I think that should work correctly
I am not pedantic with this but the changes create some confusion with the
database of iTunes.

Very few shortcuts that make live much easier on a MAC are supported by
MediaCenter.

The display is very “Windows-like”

And once after a long time of waiting for MC while it showed up “buffering”
I had been forced to quit of the program.

Otherwise MediaCenter 22.0.30 runs very stable in the meantime, the sound
is much better than on iTunes and the JRemote app is great for playing
files via iPhone or iPad and as a remote app for MediaCenter.

You can find the protocol file after the forced quit here:

Kind regards

Special characters are a *little* bit strange with MC, but you can use them.  When you're editing any field, press <command>k .  That will bring up a special entry box where you can type special characters.

Why is there no simpler solution.
As other programs show - and not only iTunes -
simple typing can work.
But in the meantime I am content with that solution.
