Many phones do not seem to be recognized by MC; I think this is because the phones don't show up as a drive letter.  Most Androids use something called Android File Transfer.  You can download this from the official android web site.  That utility will let you move files from your PC to your Android phone.

So then, to use MC, with an Android File Transfer type device, it's a few steps:

1.  In MC, set up a Handheld Sync target that points to a directory on your hard drive.  Something like D:\myphone_music .  Get that working and sync what you want into that directory.
2.  Attach your phone and fire up Android File Transfer.  Now, copy the contents of D:\myphone_music to the music folder on your Android.

I've used this method successfully and several other people have reported success as well.  Good luck.

Brian.

I have used a lot of Android phones and never seen this.  Sometimes the phones have settings for how to connect via USB.

Don't convert to mp3 when you sync. There is a bug in MC and you'll miss the last second or two of each track.
