THANK YOU, DOLLY!
I just heard from the book we sent to Zevele. It's in South Africa!
If you weren't around when it started, well, it's a
long story, but some hair-brain decided to send Zevele a book by hand, not by mail. I took it to France in September, where I left it with a Dutch friend.
Here is an e-mail I just got from her:
-----------------
Hello Jim. How are you since Paris? I read the book and I must say that I thought it very funny. It shows how people are interested when you do something out of the ordinary. Of course it is a useless thing to do, hitchhiking with a fridge, but it is a way to meet people and exchange experiences.
I took the book to South Africa and Namibia. And as I had not finished reading I took it back to South Africa. I left it with Trudy, a dutch lady who runs a guest house in Somerset West ( 6O km. from Capetown) with her husband. There arrive people from all over the world so I hope she can find somebody interesting who will take the book to the next destination.
I must say hello to ;you from Madelon. We are going to celebrate Sinterklaas this afternoon with the whole family. Should be fun. I give you the address of Trudy herewith in case you want to know how it is going.
Best greetings Dolly.
