I'm not 100% certain, but I think I remember a few builds back that MC 9.1 would allow different view scheme types depending on the highlighted pane.

I.E.  MC could be configured such that if the panes available to the view scheme were "Genre," "Artist," & "Album," then when items were last selected under the first two panes, the resulting view would be Album Thumbnails.  If a specific album album were seleted from the "Album" field, however, the view would change to, say, details.

Was this ever in there?  And if it wasn't, would it be possible/desirable to impliment?
