Copy Bass in Room Correction
« on: November 19, 2016, 10:03:49 am »

Good morning,
I would like confirm the function of Copy Bass on the Room Correction tab.

Is it correct that with Copy Bass, a speaker (or speaker driver) will retain its full range output and also route that same selected low frequency band to the subwoofer channel?  For instance on the Bass Management tab, 80 Hz is selected for Front Left and Front Right, and Copy Bass is selected:  Result = Full range to both mains and 80 Hz and below from both mains also sent to the Sub channel.

I ask as I am interested in employing my mains as additional low frequency sources in a mono-summed multi-sub configuration (5.1+).  The main(s) would retain stereo low frequency but the Copy material would then be mono-summed in the sub channel.
Also, I have an large irregularly shaped room.

Given that:
1.  The mains (Revel F208s, 2x2 8 in. woofers) measure flat at significant output down to 35 Hz (ports sealed);
2.  By using REW, PEQ below 200 Hz, and miniDSP, I can match output and timing accurately;
3.  LF in small rooms is minimum phase,

Are there any weaknesses in this plan?

Thanks very much, good weekend
