Weird WDM driver problems
« on: December 10, 2016, 05:52:37 am »

I use the WDM driver on many machines, but on one of them, it doesn't seem to work. The machine in question is used for my whole-house audio, and because of this it has 4 sound-cards. I want to be able to use spotify as well on this computer. But the WDM-driver seems to have problems on this computer. Either there is no sound (If i look at the "jriver-device" the green bars fill up, so it seems like it gets the signal.), however one of two things happen, there is only silence in the speaker, or the program sending the sound gets sluggish and seems to have problems communication with the jriver-device. Spotify can hang, or show "cannot play file", windows media player can freeze up, or throw up an error message. The machine is pretty bare-bones, so I am wondering if the amount of soundcards are somehow connected to the behavior? (when spotify and wmp doesn't hang up, but "plays silence", the lpc-track is shown in playing now.
