I cannot get the LED on my iFi nano iDSD to show anything other than green. This is despite the fact I'm playing back a 88/24, 96/24 or 176/24 FLAC file. My understanding is the DAC will change the LED color (to yellow, cyan, white, blue or magenta) based on type of file it's playing back.   The PC is running Windows 8.1 and the iFi nano iDSD is installed and running with the AMR 2.26 driver.  Also, I have successfully updated the firmware from version 4.06 to version 5.20 Limoncello.  I have spent many hours trying to fix this.  I do network and systems admin for a living so I'm not totally unskilled.  I do desktop support for Win7, Win and Win 10 PC's.  Can someone please help me with this?  I appreciate your time.

What is the connection?  Direct?  Or via network (using DLNA or UPnP)?

First off THANKS SO MUCH for the reply.  I genuinely appreciate your time.  This issue is fixed! The color shift between Green 44/48 kHz and Yellow 88/96 kHz was so subtle I wasn't detecting it.  I figured this out after ponying up some $ on Acoustic Sounds and getting a DSD copy of The Doors LA Woman.  Yeah, that for sure played back Blue DSD 2.8/3.1 MHz.  I'll try playback of some other types of audio files today (namely 176/192 kHz & DSD 5.6/6.3 MHz) and then get to ripping my vinyl to DSD files.  I found a Sony PSHX500 Hi Res USB Turntable for $350 and am psyched to use its built in DSD encoding. Doesn’t digital music kick ass ??

My plan is get a master license for JRiver MC and get it on the two primary computers I use for audio playback - a tricked out May of 2011 iMac and a Sony Vaio Pro 13 laptop running Windows 10.  Stereo playback of DSD files will be handled by a Sony UHPH1 blu ray (darn that thing is like a swiss army knife for music) and an Onkyo TX-NR656 Network A/V Receiver which I haven't even taken delivery of yet.

I have a situation where the volume slider of MC that’s in the upper left hand corner does not affect playback volume.  Did I enable some setting by mistake or is that just how the iFi nano iDSD behaves?
