Renaming Files and Then Moving Them To A Different Folder
« on: January 10, 2017, 09:07:17 pm »

After ripping 18 files from one CD I changed some of their tags:

Old Artist Name: Fox, Virgil                               New Artist Name: Fox
Old Album Name: The Art of Virgil Fox, Vol. II     New Album Name: Art of Virgil Fox-2
Old Name: (Name) (Composer)                          New Name: (Name)
Old Composer: <blank>                                    New Composer: Name of composer

When I looked at the results in the list window, all changes were displayed as I entered them.

Then I wanted to move those files into another folder using Rename, Move, and Copy. In that dialog box I enabled Move All Files In Folder. Then I enabled Directory and I typed the destination folder into the Base Path. However, I noticed that the old artist name, album name, name, etc. did not reflect the changes that I had just made. I went ahead and clicked OK anyway and the move completed successfully. But why did the Move operation show the old tags?

Using MC 21.0.90 on a Windows Vista system.
