I'm not familiar with Synology, but generally speaking you will want to enable Samba or SFTP sharing and port forward to appropriate ports to your PC. It would then be easiest to map the network share on login in Windows to a local drive letter so that the files appear locally to MC. You can certainly point at the networked location but I've found that it's easier to diagnose network problems through Explorer than through third-party software.
