Author Topic: Files with names with accented characters are not imported (OSX)  (Read 2759 times)

Following on to my post about slow library import in OSX.

Synology NAS -> Mac Mini (afp)

A few hundred files do not get imported by JRiver, apparently because the file names contain accented characters (éèà). The windows version of JRiver imports these files without any issues, the OSX version does not seem to like them.

Is this a known issue. Is there a workaround, short of renaming all the concerned files?

It should import no problem.

Can you copy and paste a full name of a file here so we could test on our side?

Thanks.

09-Sueños.flac is one that does not import. If I change it to 09-Suenos.flac, it imports without issues.
The files sit on a Synology NAS. Apple file system is turned on on the NAS, connection from the MacMini to the NAS is via afp.

Sorry for posting in the windows section

Haven't been able to reproduce.  First tested on a local drive with a file renamed and tagged with the name you provided.  Imported and played OK.  Then ran the same test from a network drive and it worked OK.  Can you test importing from a local drive to narrow down where the problem is?  Thanks.

Hi John
I think I found the cause and why you can't reproduce:

IT is so wonderful ......
 :)
I guess I have no choice but to find the offenders and change the characters
