WDM driver is causing BSOD
« on: January 13, 2017, 09:54:33 am »

I am experiencing computer crashes caused by MC 22.  Attached you can find a snip of the report from bluescreenview. It looks as if its related to the RiverWDMDriver.sys driver.  I'm running win10 64bit.  All other drivers have been updated.  Bio has been updated.  My mobo is Manufacturer ASUSTeK Computer INC. Model   P8Z68-M PRO (LGA1155) Please advise.

You can turn the WDM driver off in Options > General > Features > WDM driver

Yes I can turn it off.  I don't want to just turn it off I want it to work.  Thoughts?

I had the same problem. It seems that the WDM Driver conflicts with something else (not investigated).
If you stop the non-audio related services using Fidelizer (even the free version) your BSOD (and mine) are gone !

It's worth noting that use of audio optimizer programs like Audio Fidelizer is considered unsupported.

And not advised.

Do you use Tidal? Older pc desktop versions caused BSODs when Tidal audio was set exclusive.

Why ? When my PC crashes, it takes a long time to recover from BSOD (or the fancy thing :( that replaced it in WIndows 10).
WDM is my only reason to upgrade from 18 to 22.
Do you advise me to stop using WDM and stay in version 18 ?

Let me ask a (unanswerd) question posted elsewhere ...
What passes through the IPC pipe ? the FLAC decompressed by Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify ? I guess these are not the streamed raw data.
That is what is done by MC after it receives those data ?
Thanks
