Play tvlb files on Mac, Linux

I know native TV support on Linux and Mac is apparently still some time away, but would it be possible to get the ability to open tvlb files, so that we can at least access the tuners on Windows machines? A la TV streaming on a windows machine connected to another library?

tvlb is not an actual media file.  It is just used for TV channels.  Do you mean jtv files?

I don't know if it's JTV files I'm looking to play :-)

I'd like to be able to watch what the tuner on my Windows library machine is capturing, live, on my Mac or Linux machine :-) The same way I can on a windows client machine. Place shifting to Mac / Linux.

That would be JTV.  It is not possible right now, and it will not be simple, though not impossible, to implement.  Some time down the road, maybe.
