MC 22 Uses Very High CPU Rendering Hulu Video

After several years of not being able to use JRiver Media Center to view HULU I recently began to able to do so with MC 22.0.64 with Theater View using my late 2014 3.0GHz 16GB RAM 256GB SSD Mac mini. Although the Video looks great the Mac mini uses an amazingly larger amount of CPU to render HULU video with Media Center than when using Flash in Safari as shown in the graphic below. I would really like to continue using MC 22 for video, but doing so makes the Mac mini quite hot to the touch which is something that I want to avoid. Is there some kind of an explanation for this behavior?
