Send to compactflash card
« on: July 12, 2003, 01:46:11 pm »

I have a pda with a 1gb microdrive (Compact Flash card). I want to use Media Centre to copy files to this, but when I attempt to upload, Media Centre only detects my pda's internal memory, and therefore says there is not enough space. I have tried copying directly into the card's folder, but it still won't let me do it.

Any ideas?

Are you using the PDA Portable Plugin?

Ktulu,

What version of MC are you running? Do you have Plugin 9.0.04 installed?

If so, when I test a similar setup here, I see a folder called "Storage Card" for my removable memory. Do you not see this?

Using:
Media Center 9.1.212
Plugin Version 9.0.04

When I expand the folders, my cf card is displayed. I copy a file to it and all seems fine. Then I go to the Windows CE root folder to upload, but it only displays internal memory. So even though the path to the cf card is correct in the queued file(s), it will not upload as it says there is insufficient memory.

Appreciate your help with this.

Ktulu,

Is your CF card displayed as 'Storage Card'? If not, do you see a display item for 'Storage Card'? If so, this is where you should send your files.

No. The card is displayed as 'CF Card' and there is no display item for 'Storage Card'. Is this something peculiar to the microdrive?

I am not sure. Can you copy a small file to the CF Card? If so, I can fix this pretty easily.

When I try and copy even a small file, it says 'cannot open destination file for writing'.

Here's a screenshot of a file in my upload queue, and the folders:

Ktulu,

What happens if you manually try to copy that same file to the same location from within Windows Explorer?

There is absolutely no problem with that. Works perfectly.

When you click on Windows CE in MC and expand the tree, is the folder your are referring to listed as 'CF Card' under Windows CE?

Can you right click and create a subfolder under 'CF Card' from within MC?

If so, try sending a small file to it.

Nope. That didn't work either. Got the ' cannot open destination file for writing' again.

Ktulu,

I posted a new plugin (9.0.05) with some changes that I hope will fix your problem. Could you download it and give it a try?

Thanks,
