Please list what you have done.

For example:
I downloaded [name the full version] from jriver.com.

I installed it.

When I tried to start it, it ran.

There are no audio files showing in it.

When you download, you also need to install MC.  It isn't clear whether you did that.

Hi Harleuguy,

Interpreting this post, it looks like you have never installed software on a Mac. This makes it very hard to give you all the help you need. But I will try anyway:

Step 1. Download MC22: from the download page in this forum. Downloading takes some time, so wait at least a few minutes before exiting Safari.

Step 2: Installing MC22: go to the download folder in Finder and double click on the MC22 file you've just downloaded. Then follow all steps the computer asks you to do.

Step 3: Go to the Program folder in Finder and double click on the Media Center 22 file.

Step 4: The program will open up and will start looking for your music files.

If this is not the information you need, then I'm afraid you are not clear in your question for help.

Lots of success!

You could try an Internet search for questions like that.  You will find lots of information.

Here's an example:

When you open the .dmg file are you dragging the Media Center App to the application folder on your mac or are you trying to open it by double clicking it from the DMG window? If you are just double clicking the app from the .dmg window it will not function properly. You need to drag it out of the window that comes up when you double click the file that ends in .dmg. Heck if you can't find your Application folder you can just drag it to your desktop and it should work!

Hi Harleyguy,

It would be much better if you took a small beginners course for OSX. Youtube is full of beginners videos. Google it and you will be on your way in no time.

You will get better help if you list the steps you have taken and exactly what happened.

Downloading the file isn't the same as installing it.  You need to execute the downloaded file.

You only need to download and install once.

Then MC should import your files.  You can tell it where to import.  Tools > Import.

Open up Audio on the left by clicking on Audio.

The download doesn't do an install.  Once you have finished downloading, you need to install it by executing the downloaded file.

I think you've misunderstood what JRiver Media Center is.

JRiver Media Center mainly plays back pre-existing media files on your computer. You have to supply the files from whatever sources (ripping from CDs, buying on sites like HDtracks and 7digital, etc.). It does not provide you with music files.

iTunes has a music streaming service built within called Apple Music, which gives you access to a cloud-based music library - you don't have to purchase music (except the monthly subscription) and you can listen to almost any music available in the Apple Store with Apple Music. JRiver Media Center doesn't have this type of feature, nor does it support music streaming services like Apple Music.

You could insert a CD and try ripping it.  It's not hard to do.
