Artifacts when subtitles are enabled

When enabling subtitles I see frequent video artifacts on the left side of the screen.

I see this on several movies and on two different PCs, both new, one I3 and one I5. The data below is generated on the I5.

Automatic update is enabled on the machines to the screen drivers should be fine. I enabled HW acc on the I5 before I generated the below info.

Anyone else seen this?

This seems to happen on some Intel GPUs. I would suggest upgrading drivers and/or reporting the problem to Intel. There is nothing we can really do to fix it, since we rely on a Microsoft video renderer that handles both video and subtitles.

As a work-around, you can switch in the Options under Video to Red October HQ which uses another video renderer, which avoids this problem - but on low-end hardware this might need manual tweaking to run fast enough.

Another option to try would be to force your system to use the NVIDIA GPU for video playback in MC, since you seem to have switchable graphics (Optimus?).

Got the issue on my Intel NUC with Intel Graphics 620, under MC24. Didn't have it under MC22 on the same platform. Switching to Red October HQ solved the problem, fortunately my NUC is powerful enough.
