Incorrect channel mapping
« on: April 05, 2017, 04:57:07 pm »

Not sure where to start but my problem has apparently been one I've had for a while.

Channel maping in either my computer or in JRiver is messed up. When testing channels in the playback devices configuration on computer left channel comes out of right and visa versa. Other surround channels in my 7.1 set up are incorrect too. No idea where problem lies or how to address. Im using hdmi bitstream into a Datasat RS20i processor. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

There is a test feature in Windows Control Panel / Sounds.

Yes....you mean where the speakers show up and you can test each one? That's where I discovered incorrect mapping. Are there settings there to correct? I am not at unit at the moment.

All other source components, including my Oppo 203 are mapped and play back properly.

If it isn't right in Windows Control Panel, then the wiring of the speakers may be wrong.

Speaker cabling to processor is correct. Using HDMI bit stream from Bluray play woirks as it should, test tones and all. Only the computer I have problems with. Really weird. Bit streaming from Computer/jriver to processor via HMDI should work as well. Confussed!
