Colectomy - JRiver removing/changing illegal colons
« on: April 17, 2017, 11:46:23 am »

Some Blu-ray movies and most Blu-ray concerts have a colon in the name in the info returned from "Get Movie and TV info." Since a folder can't have a colon, JRiver adds an underscore when ripping. Example:

Joe Bonamassa:  Live From the Royal Albert Hall (Name automatically entered in Rip Action Window)
Joe Bonamassa_ Live From the Royal Albert Hall (Folder Name created by JRiver)

I know JRiver chooses the underscore, but it is always out of place in a movie name. However, perhaps it is easiest to reverse in tags when using the Rename, Move & Copy Files tool. Could it be switched to a hyphen instead when creating folders?

We might need more detail, but, to get you started, if you put:

replace([name,0],:,/ -)

in the directories 'rule' field of the Rename, Move & Copy tool, it should return a folder name of, using your example...
