Howdy

I have an issue with DTS playback and I am wondering if JRiver MC is the solution (or indeed if anyone can think of another solution)

I have an Anthem AVM60 pre/pro and a 7.1.2 atmos setup.

The issue is it is impossible to play a DTS 5.1 format in 5.1. It will ALWAYS upmix it to 7.1 (not 7.1.x).

So the question is can Media Centre be setup such that   everything is bitstreamed except for DTS 5.1 (standard or HD Master Audio) which is converted (trancoded??) to PCM?

I think so:

Tools > Options > Audio > settings > bitstreaming > Custom > (Check boxes here for the formats you want to bitstream)

I will try to find some time this weekend install and investigate MC.

I noticed some people have essentially replaced their pre/pro with MC.  This also deserves investigation.
