JRiver "there is nothing to play" message when trying to play or rip CD

I have read instructions, searched FAQs and posts on this subject, I still can't rip or play CDs with JRiver MC22 and Windows 10.  I get a "there is nothing to play" message when trying to read the drive even with Windows recognizing a CD audio file.  Help would be appreciated.  Best, Pierre
