Hey guys,
My first post here (that i can remember), and i've just received my SD card version of ID for the Raspberry Pi 3. I'm having a few issues trying to get my DAC working properly.
The DAC i have is the Xiang Sheng DAC-01A V10 (ak4490), with XMOS 8U6C5 receiver.
The issue i'm having is dropouts, clicking and popping from the audio while playing. I think its a resource issue considering i can replicate it by enabling the spectrum analyser. If i output through HDMI its perfect when doing this.
My music is stored on a NAS, which i've added to the network share. Most music being FLAC or mp3.
Changing different buffer sizes, sample rates, auto or manual makes no difference. I can force all outputs to 44.1 and it still pops and ticks.
All that is connected to the PI is my USB DAC, network and HDMI (running headless still has the same issue when playing, but i cannot force it).
I've read about alot of USB issues with resources so i'm wondering if my network and USB DAC are fighting for bandwidth and interfering with each other?
Anyone else encountered this or know how to overcome it?
Also just to note, this is replacing a small AMD bobcat ITX system which i've used for years and works well. I can push youtube videos to it using Allconnect on my phone and it streams them fine (audio only). However the ID system will fail to play anything i send across.
