Upgrading from 21 to 22 - what to do with the old jriver?
« on: May 18, 2017, 01:30:54 pm »

Hi

I do understand that I should have figured this out from existing threads - but I did not find any good explanations.
I have JRiver 21 installed on multiple PC's.
I'm now upgrading to JRiver 22. I do this by installing JRiver 22.
This causes me to have both JRiver 21 and JRiver 22 installed with icons for both on my desktop. But I do no longer need JRiver 21.
So, the simple question is: What should I do with JRiver 21? Can I just uninstall it? Would that remove my library? Would that unregistrer the file associations?
Or am I missing something extremely obvious here that should cause me to not feel the need to ask these questions?

If you don't need Media Center 21, simply uninstall it. :)

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.

OK
Guess I got a bit confused by the feedback choices. Nothing that seems to fit for an upgrade.

You could leave 21 for a while until you are assured that all your settings and library has been imported correctly in 22. And then uninstall 21. The old version will not interfere. Note that you get an UAC prompt each time you start a different major version (e.g. switching between 21 and 22).
