I am trying out a Mac computer, OS 10.10.5 with 8 gb ram. 

I am using an ifi nano USB dac. This device works fine on windows and plays all files including SACD ISO files.   On the Mac, all is well except I get a "Something went wrong with playback" error on SACD ISO files. Other files play.

Could someone share config parameters for JRiver that should work for a macintosh?

Try a Google search.  I think it's a limitation of the Mac.

Can other programs on the Mac play to the nano?  That's step 1.

I am not sure I understand.

JRiver plays to the nano, high res, low res, etc.

SACD ISO files are the only thing that won't work

Oh!  I misunderstood.

If your nano plays DSD files natively, then you should set up bitstreaming for DSD.

By default, MC will try to convert DSD files to 352kHz PCM, which the nano may or may not be able to handle.  2xDSD files would be converted to twice that rate or 704kHz, which I'm rather certain the nano can not handle.  You can make 352 (or 704) get down converted to a lower sampling rate (like 192kHz for example), by using the DSP Studio > Output format > sample rate configuration.

I can provide more specifics if necessary, but I'll need to understand what formats your nano can accept.
