905 N Fifth St
« on: June 02, 2017, 07:11:48 pm »

Our new address isn't a lot different from our old one -- 125 N First St.  It even has the same zip code: 55401.

We were in that old (1884) building a very long time.  At least I was.  1979 to 2017.  Bob was there almost as long.  Most of the rest of us were there more than a decade.

We moved because the neighborhood was getting a little too plush, and also because it was easier to sell it than to take the phone calls asking about it buying it.  It was a great old building, but we've moved on.

We finished moving into the new space a couple of weeks ago.  We'll be unpacking boxes for a long time.

The building has 12,000 square feet.  About 1200 square meters.  JRiver occupies about 15% of that, so there is a lot of space to rent.  It's been divided and subdivided and fussed over for the last 5 months.  It's starting to be occupied now.

Three of the spaces are small stores.  Each of them will have a storefront made of glass with a door in the center.  The openings were originally dock doors when the building was built by a produce business in 1927.

The first storefront went in yesterday.  The others will be installed next week.

The storefronts are complete now.  New pictures are here:

JRiver is to the right of the storefronts.  I'll post some pictures later.

FYI - The website still has the old address.  Good thing I checked as the next batch of chickens are due to ship!

...I'm glad I'm leaving the internal distribution to the team to you!  Image if I tried to ship to more than one address.   ::)
Please pass on my thanks to the entire MC team for the work done this year.  It has been a very good one from my perspective for the work either already delivered or currently being worked on expanding features for my areas of interest:
- Video in general (and BD in particular)
- TV
- DLNA / Sync
& general fixs

I know that you mostly hear about complaints of stuff not working, or pet features not implemented... but I tip my hat to MC.  For a small team, the output is consistently high in quality and quantity.  It is also rare to find a commercial product where those that are involved in the development also directly interact (pun intended) with your users.  I look forward to see what 2018 brings.
