Using a Portable install in Win Server 2016 Core mode
« on: June 17, 2017, 05:56:44 pm »

I am running in Windows Server 2016 in Core; I was able to create a portable install from a licensed version of JRiver MC22 installed
on a Win10 machine.  I successfully loaded the portable install and it runs fine.
However, it will not register itself.  It sees itself as a trial version.
When I attempt to register by entering my license key, the program looks for an internet connection and, not finding one, fails to register.

I know there is an internet connection in Server 2016 Core, because I have downloaded Windows updates in Powershell.
I also have installed a portable edition of Firefox, but I can't direct JRiver to find its way out using either Windows
or Firefox.  I am stuck.

Does anyone have a suggestion for this?

Also, all of my attempts to get this to work have lead to the exhaustion of my 10 permitted installs.  Can I recover them under these circumstance, and, if so, how?

We don't recommend that OS and we don't support it.  Sorry.

I've reset your restores.
