Radio KISS Feedback
« on: June 13, 2017, 11:49:42 pm »

Sounds lovely, I think...

I'm guessing JRemote won't get this? Could it?

So... while we wait, if I went to Radio Kiss via Safari on my phone, and hit one of those playcharts, this would do too, wouldn't it?

As most of my playcharts include 'Last Played' info, would that field be updated, along with number plays, when playing from a browser in this way?

ps. I'll get on the MC23 bandwagon soon... Still getting this new PC in order... don't want the added complication until that's all settled in... then, I'm in.

It should update playlists.  Yes, you could use it alongside of JRemote or any other JRiver remote.

FYI - Tried it with a Music Video playlist.  You get a the coverart and details of the track, then a bit of the sound track before it skips to the next one.

We may do another app for video.

How do you access it?

Does it require MC 23?

I got a good laugh this morning when I finally understood the logic of the name of this feature.

Seems quite buggy on iOS right now.
- Scrolling covers up names with the play icon.
- Scrolling does not behave in a 'native' way, so there is no momentum and toolbars do not disappear.
- Items are not sized/spaced correctly.
- Only control is a play/pause button. Next/Prev are missing.
- Smartlists do not randomize each time you play them. (if randomized)
- After playing a handful of smartlists, it got stuck on one. JRiver and Radio KISS would list the new tracks but it would be playing the old playlist every time.
- Now Playing list is not locked to only scroll vertically.
- Can't select tracks in the Now Playing list to either play or remove them.
- Web Player doesn't work.
- Back button steps back through every interaction in the app, instead of taking me back to Panel.

As for suggestions:
- Zone selection should also be large buttons instead of a text list.
- If you are going to make a simplified web app for basic functions like this, it might be useful if you could generate a link that only plays to a specific zone and hides the zone selection or replaces it with a toggle for the specified zone and local playback. E.g. https://192.168.0.1:52200/WebPlayer/Zone02

I'm sure it will be improved, but it really highlights why I dislike web apps instead of native apps like JRemote.
