I've just recently come back to MC and have discovered Gizmo. I use it a lot to pay my tunes while commuting.

Last month I almost broke the data threshold on my mobile plan. This month I'm almost half way through my data plan again.

Is there an option to reduce data usage? I used to use Pandora without issue. And while I'm sure I'm sacrificing quality that's not a priority while out and about.

I've been on a mission to rate every track I own and Gizmo is really helping to accomplish that... 3.99 GB at a time.

Look in Gizmo options...

Specifically, look for quality settings, from memory, you can choose from low, medium or high...

Also, check out the cache ahead settings... again, from memory, this downloads the next ten songs whilst the first is playing. Maybe try reducing that?

also, as an aside, Jim's not too smitten with the Tapatalk ads... maybe look into turning those off when posting

I had the same thought.

It occurs to me that I could use Gizmo for one and JRemote for the other.

Is the bit rate next to the file type at the bottom right of JRemote playing now screen the file meta or the streaming bit rate? I'm guessing the former since I've set JRemote to use 192kbps.

Right?
