iTunes Artwork to FLAC files
Invictavis:
Hi all - I am new to JRiver and currently in the process of converting my substantial iTunes library to FLAC format in JRiver. I use Windows 10 and MC23. So far I am very impressed. However, the conversion from m4a to FLAC does not seem to include the artwork from iTunes. I have thousands of tracks, all with their artwork. Is there a shortcut or what is the quickest way to add artwork to FLAC files ? I have searched the wiki and also this forum but couldn't find an answer.
Thanks so much in advance.

Can I ask why you're converting from .M4A to FLAC?

Are the M4A files imported into JRiver MC already? If so, do you see artwork with them there?

Converting m4a to flac just gives you the exact same audio quality in a larger file size. I would leave it as an m4a file unless there is a very good reason to do otherwise.

thanks all for the replies. First of all I have to convert because my music player supports FLAC but not m4a. Secondly, FLAC is a high res track compared to m4a - it's obvious to me when I listen to my favourites (more depth, details, instruments and notes you couldn't detect before ..) and also from the bit rate which increases by several multiples in some cases !
Anyway - all fixed: somehow after the conversion of all c6700 tracks was complete, the artwork appeared in all. Perfectly !! Thanks so much JRiver - so grateful. The only issue I had was with incorrect tagging in iTunes with c14 tracks so it wouldn't convert those until I fixed it.
Now my issue is removing duplicates from the converted library - the first conversion was interrupted and I thought I had deleted all the files before starting again.
So I am looking for info on how to eliminate duplicates - very grateful for any help.
Thanks so much
:)
