Portable Installations - reg key persistence
« on: October 01, 2017, 03:41:30 am »

Hi there
I have a master licence and just upgraded to MC23
Have two fixed , pc installations and one portable SD card install. the SD card gets used on my work PC (on which I do not wish to leave a big footprint)

Problem triggered when the portable install decided to down load and update itself. It installed instead on my work PC. I wiped it away. My problem now is that I keep needing to reinstall the licence, using the mjr file has no effect. Literally

I've used up 3 re-install already. Can you offer a solution please?

Did you try making a new portable install?

Thanks for the suggestion.

Not since the 'accidental' upgrade, no. I simply removed the program from the work machine and tried to restore the licence on my portable sd card (using that same work machine). I will try the reinstall approach.

btw, and I guess you know this, if I run MC23 exe from the SD card on a machine that has a valid licence for its own, separate hard drive install, it presents itself to me as licenced. Same exe on same SD card on work machine does not.

reinstalled to card from a licenced machine. got the new exe build and it now appears licenced when I run it from the card on another machine.
Looks good so far

Thank you :)
