Any ETA on a stable 64-bit version (mainly interested in audio functionality, not video) ?

TIA

It's pretty good now.  It's getting a lot of use, without too many problems.  Most of the problems are related to drivers not being available as 64 bit.

This may be out of date, but last I heard these were possible shortcomings in 64-bit builds:

Handheld device support (working in beta builds)
Chromium browser (only IE works)
IR blasting (if based on 32-bit DLL)
Plugins for interface, visualization, DSP etc. (if you use any, do your homework to ensure there are 64-bit versions)
Scanning (added 10/18)

Don't be scared of the current version, in my opinion.

It's been just as solid as the 32 bit version for me so far (audio & video, even 3d blu-rays to my surprise). The few external plugins I use have had 64 bit versions for years and the same goes for my soundcard ASIO drivers. AFAIK you can install it side by side with the 32bit version anyway. Just import your settings and library and see how it goes.

Yes, they can be installed side by side, but I'm pretty sure it is not recommended to use both medium/long term. Check out the new and keep the old around for a while just in case you hit a showstopper.
