the time bar cover me subtitles, i can't read it

when I play a movie in full screen the lower time bar cover the subtitles. Is it possible to not display the lower time bar?

if the subtitles are long and I have to stop for an instant the movie the bottom bar appears for a long time and It cover the lyrics !! is very annoying!!
